What did you think of Mare? Do you admire her or disapprove of her decisions?
Some of us at EhBookEhDay saw resemblances between a few characters in the book and people we know. How about you?
Some at EhBookEhDay also thought that even though the book was interesting and entertaining the plot wasn’t all that unique. A Deja vu feeling of sorts with other books we’ve come across. Did you feel that way as well?
What did you love about this book?
We’re kinda having mixed emotions about it. Help us solidify our position. Tell us what you loved.
What didn’t you like? We found that this book could have been paced a little better. some passages seemed to drag. Here at EhBookEhDay we also wished the heroine was less indecisive. Stop second guessing yourself girl!
What would you change or add? Did you need more action, more romance, more comic relief? did you want to know more of what the world was like in the Red Queen because we did.
And finally….would you read the sequels?
xo

I’m not quite sure what to think of this book either! I personally was interested in Mare at the beginning but by the end I felt that she was mostly annoying. I loved the premise of possibility for this book and Shade. Honestly, Shade was my favorite! I thought the plot twist had a lot of potential but I felt like we were missing something. Obviously there is not one good bone in that prince’s body, but I feel like if a character is to be “truly evil” they need to have a reason/reasons. Randomly evil people just aren’t realistic, you know? I have so many mixed emotions about this that when I first finished it I told a friend that I loved it, and two days later I told them I hated it. Now, however, I’m leaning toward the ugh side. I am actually planning to read the sequel, because I feel like the world and the characters have so much potential and so does this author. I think she could take them somewhere. I hope the next book captures me a bit more, though, or I won’t be finishing the series.
